Services

Light commercial HVAC

Rooftop units, split systems, unit heaters and make-up air for small commercial spaces in Chicago’s north suburbs.

What we take on

Packaged rooftop units, including changeouts onto a curb adapter. Split systems in shops and offices. Gas unit heaters and infrared tube heaters in workshops and warehouse bays. Ductless heads in dining rooms, where a rooftop unit cannot reach and a floor cassette would be in the way. Make-up air for commercial kitchens.

This page lists what we can show you photographs of. Ask about anything else and you will get a straight answer rather than a yes.

Rooftop units

Service access is half the job

A rooftop unit is easy to look after and easy to neglect, and the difference is usually whether the panels can be opened without moving something else first.

On a service call the compressor, the belts, the economizer dampers and the condensate all get looked at, because a rooftop unit that stops in August stops a business, not a bedroom.

Workshops and bays

Unit heaters and infrared tube heaters

A tall bay is not heated the way a room is. Warm air collects at the ceiling and the people are at the floor, which is why infrared makes sense in a space with a big door that keeps opening.

We install and service both, including the gas piping and the venting that go with them.

What a commercial customer wrote

I had them do maintenance and also installation for commercial property and couldn't be happier. Alex always offers most doable solutions for any case and also is very reasonable priced.

Commercial questions

Do you do maintenance contracts for small properties?

We do scheduled maintenance. Call and tell us what the building has on it and how many units there are.

Can you work around opening hours?

Ask when you call and we will tell you what that week looks like. We would rather be straight with you about a slot than promise one and miss it.

Restaurants and bars?

Yes. Dining room mini-splits and kitchen make-up air are both on this site with photographs.

Is there a size of unit you will not take on?

There is, and it is worth asking before you book. Light commercial is what this page says because it is what we do well.
